💡 Timing tip: Your early-November dates are near-ideal, dry, calm seas, just before peak rates. If you can flex, late April gives similar weather at noticeably lower prices.

Top pick (best fit)Best value
Applies to most stays here
Thailand adds a 10% service charge + 7% VAT (the "++") to most resort bills, and a small international tourist fee may apply, assume ~17% on top of quoted rates unless a rate says 'nett'.
Rayavadee
The famous beaches fill with boat day-trippers midday, the 'private' magic is early morning and evening only.
Confirmed 2026 works: a new pool is being built May to mid-Aug, the main pool and Raitalay Terrace close 10 Aug to 30 Sep, and the tennis court closes Sep to Oct. Early-November dates land just after it all wraps, but confirm at booking.
Request a Hydra Pool Villa or a beachfront pavilion - the entry-level Deluxe Pavilions sit back in the gardens with no sea view and a longer buggy ride to the beach.
Sauna (spa booking only)
COMO Point Yamu
It is not a beach resort, you swim in the (gorgeous) pool, and you're a drive from anything walkable.
Bay-view rooms are worth the modest upgrade over Point-view, which faces the headland rather than the open water.
no Beach access
Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
World-class design and service, but the house beach is forgettable, you'll boat out for the good stuff.
Sauna (spa booking only)

Six Senses Yao Noi
You come for the views, villas and spa, not the beach. The shoreline is tidal, so beach days mean a boat to a sandbar.
Phased villa refurbishments completed 2023; ask for a renovated Hideaway Pool Villa.
Book a Hideaway Pool Villa or higher for the unobstructed bay view; entry Ocean Panorama villas sit lower with partial views and more buggy noise.
Banyan Tree Krabi
It is a polished big-brand resort, so you trade the intimate, owner-run charm of the boutiques for an every-room pool and dependable five-star consistency.
Entry Pool Suites are excellent value; pay up only for a beachfront Pool Villa. Upper-floor suites still get the island view at a fraction of the villa price.
Rainforest hydrotherapy (spa booking only)
The Slate
It is a design-and-value pick a short walk from the beach, not a beachfront or scenery stay, and you will hear the occasional plane.
Cocoon rooms are the sweet spot; upgrade to a Pool Access room only if a swim-up terrace matters. Standard rooms are large and quiet at the back, away from the flight path.
Coqoon tree-pod spa (spa booking only)
The Tubkaak Krabi
Its charm is being small and personal, which also means fewer restaurants, no nightlife and a quieter scene than the big resorts up the beach.
Ask for a Deluxe Sea View; the Superior rooms face the garden. The sea-view rooms are only a modest step up and worth it for the island sunset.
Spa (spa booking only)

What the scores mean

Show what the scores mean
★ The Plot Score , your headline number

A single 1–10 rating of how well each stay fits you. Every hotel is graded 1–10 on the ten factors below from real guest-review evidence, then those grades are weighted by what you said matters most, so the ranking is yours, and it re-sorts live as you drag the sliders. On top of that weighted base we fold in a few smart adjustments: how much guests genuinely love the place (volume-weighted, so a few rave reviews can’t game it), how solid the evidence is (thin or shaky data gets reined in), how well it fits your must-haves and trip style, and penalties for real negatives like pushy sales or hidden fees. The result is one number that compares very different hotels on equal footing, higher is better, and the gaps between scores are meaningful.

Scenery, The natural setting and views, cliffs, water, landscape drama.
Design, How the buildings, interiors and art look, the photographable side.
Food, On-site dining: restaurants, breakfast, signature venues.
Atmosphere, The feel and mood, service warmth, energy, romantic vs. buzzy vs. calm.
Seclusion, Privacy and lack of crowds, how exclusive it actually feels.
Beach, Quality of the resort's own beach and water access.
Wellness, Gym plus sauna / steam / spa, quality and range.
Walkability, How easy it is to get around on foot (not disabled-access).
Excursions, Standout day-trips and experiences nearby, off the property.
Entertainment, On-resort programming for adults, live music, shows (not kids' clubs).

Method & notes

Show method & notes

How the list was built. We start wide, then narrow hard. From a broad field of places that could suit your trip, we keep only the ones that genuinely fit your budget, your dates and what you told us matters most. Every stay here cleared our bar for real guest satisfaction and was scored on your own priorities, so the order is built around you, not around who's paying to show up first.

Quality floor. Every stay here had to clear a high bar for genuine guest satisfaction, in every budget tier. Anything weak, badly run, or coasting on a famous name was cut, so you're only choosing between places worth your time and money.

Local market. Top hotels in the Thai Andaman are rated against the best in a region where guest ratings run high, so the bar here is held high rather than to a softer global average, a fair like-for-like comparison.

Rubric. Each place is graded on the ten factors above, then weighted by the priorities you set when you started. You can see and change every weight on the sliders, and the ranking re-sorts live, so the score always reflects what matters to you.

Honorable mentions (didn't make the cut)

  • Pimalai, Koh Lanta, strong value, calmer, free herbal sauna (included, not spa-gated)
  • Keemala, Phuket, fantastical villas but no beach

Tourist traps & hazards

  • Maya Bay & Koh Phi Phi, overrun; go at dawn or skip
  • Railay beaches mob with day-trippers midday, swim early/late
  • Phuket jet-ski and tailor/gem scams, avoid
